We Invented The Remix

Jaybird goes fantasy on this downtempo super chilled out remix of Alex Winstons Locomotive and I love it…

You locomotive – keep going, keep going no focus. slow down.”

I think we can all young and ambitious can learn a lesson from this song. We all want to accomplish so much in our lives which is great if you have a clear direction and plan. What usually happens though is that we overextend ourselves by trying many things hoping one sticks. You never want to stick all your eggs in one basket right? Like most things I think this mentality finds its roots in fear which I’m not sure about that saying anymore because to win big you have to bet big.

I’m callin guts everytime, drag my nuts everytime homie… – Jay-Z (Guess Whose Back)

Fear has no place in life. No matter what you do you must have confidence in your ability to perform and execute. That confidence will slow things down and you won’t have a need to always be on the go to feel like things are in motion. So to all my fellow entrepreneurs, sit back and play this song. Take a minute to breath and think about how powerful your drive and ambition is, then think about how much more powerful that will be if you hone it in and focus your energies, enjoy.

Epic, dramatic, cinematic, illmatic, push the pedal to the medal and ride fast. Those we’re the thoughts that came to my mind when I heard what Jungle Fiction did to this remix. Banger.

Pretty Lights – Finally Moving (James Brown Remix)

Aight, let’s keep the party going. In the last post The S was the remixee and in this one they’re the remixer.. I’m pretty sure no one is said that before because it sounds ridiculous but so do all things new so fuck it. We’re new, we’re going after the blog world with a vengeance and we don’t give a flying truck.

This remix is coming out next month on TUFFEM UP! records and that’s about all the information we have for you ladies and gentleman. Quite frankly the only other thing you need to know is that it bangs like a pornstar and needs to be played at high volumes. Get ‘em!

I hope your in the mood to f&*king party because that’s all this track makes me want to do. Listening to this is like taking an adrenaline shot to the face and dancing till you literally die. LaTourette must have made this while raging in a club, that or he was on drugs, there’s no other explanation. The original by The S is called Takedown, the remix should be called Takeup because there’s absolutely nothing down about it (I want my 10% publishing for that idea!). Excuse us, we’re going to go run swim some laps, run a maraton and lift while this song keeps playing, damn electro maniacs!

Once again the vast world of Soundcloud brings me to a very abstract yet massively chilled out remix of Caribou’s Sun. What’s that? You never heard of Herr Johann, shit well that makes two of us. Homeboy has a myspace page with a picture of a green pastures and absolutely no information. The remix is different but dope, try lighting up a doobie and starting at the Caribou album cover while you listen. I’m pretty sure that’s what it was made for.

You may know Canadian producer U-Tern from his Twitter mashup hit of  The Dreams and Kris Menance. U-Tern may not like that you know him because of that so he changed his name to Oliver and dropped a banging retro-grade remix of Black Cards’ Dominoes.

I don’t know about you but I like it when artists reinvent themselves because it just means more music for us. If this is the sound we can expect from this new Oliver guy I’m certainly looking forward for what’s to come.

Another Chad Velley  remix is a good thing these days. I can’t count how many have already been released in 2011 but the kid is focused and pumping out gems, this being no exception.

Clock Opera & The Drums? These are two of the most emotional acts I know right now and this remix is pure sensory overload. It’s been making its way around the blogs lately but were posting it for the unfortunate souls who may have not heard it yet.

Me and your forever…”
